Msgr. Mijo Gorski

Msgr. Mijo Gorski was born on September 17, 1952 in Gora Veternička, the Parish of Mihovljan. After completing primary school, in 1967 he entered the Archdiocesan Minor Seminary in Zagreb, and in 1972 he entered the Archdiocesan Theological Seminary in Zagreb. He completed his studies in theology at the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Zagreb in 1977.

He was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Zagreb by Archbishop Franjo Kuharić on June 26, 1977 in the Zagreb Cathedral. He served as a parish vicar in the Parish of St. Vitus in Vrbovec (1978-1979) and in the Parish of St. Blaise in Zagreb (1979-1982). He was the administrator of the Parish of St. Matthew, Zagreb-Dugave (1982-1997) and the Parish of St. Anastasia in Samobor (1997-1998) and pastor of the Parish of St. Blaise in Zagreb (1998-2002). He served as episcopal vicar for the city of Zagreb from 1999 to 2004, and from 2001 to 2004 he was archdeacon of the Cathedral Archdeaconry. From 2002 to 2008 he served as rector of the Archdiocesan Theological Seminary, and from 2008 to 2014 as director of the Archdiocesan Institution for the Support of Clergy and Other Church Servants.

He was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Zagreb on 3 May 2010 by Pope Benedict XVI, and consecrated as bishop on 3 July 2010 by the Archbishop of Zagreb, Cardinal Josip Bozanić.
