The Archdiocese of Zagreb is the largest administrative unit of the Catholic Church in Croatia in terms of the number of faithful. The seat of the Archdiocese is located in the capital of the Republic of Croatia, and it is therefore commonly regarded as the centre of the Catholic Church in Croatia, although, in terms of canon law, the other Croatian archdioceses are equal in status.
The Archdiocese of Zagreb is also the metropolitan see of the ecclesiastical province of Zagreb. Its territory, specifically the city of Zagreb, is also home to the headquarters of the Croatian Bishops’ Conference, the Military Ordinariate, and the Apostolic Nunciature to the Republic of Croatia.
