In the midst of learning and exam periods, youth of the Archdiocese of Zagreb their strength and peace find in God. Second Thursday in the month of February in student’s schedules is reserved for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
More than thousand young people fulfilled Zagreb Cathedral on Thursday, 12
th of February, and lifted their eyes to God knowing that a single look at the crucified Savior is enough. Adoration for students, organized by the Office for the pastoral care of the youth, was led by rev. Ivica Budinšćak, commissioner for the pastoral care of the youth, and for singing was responsible Archdiocesan youth choir.
Based on excerpts from the letters of Blessed Alojzije Stepinac to his fiancée Marija Horvat, youth was contemplating the beauty of humility that is often suppressed by the hunger for material goods. They asked the Lord to teach them to be simple - just like Stepinac – and to strengthen them so they can show others that all of material goods are in vain if there is no God's blessing.
Contemplating on life's crises and difficulties, they realized the importance of mutual support based on equality and unity. They begged to be supportive and to know how to support one another and that the Lord shows them that it is important in a relationship and marriage to be there for the ones we love.
Inspired by the thoughts of Blessed Cardinal Stepinac, young people were praying for their young friends who are choosing their life paths so that they put their search to the providence of God; for all those in love so they put Christ at the foundation of their relationships; for all families, especially the young ones, that they have strength to witness their belonging to God; for the grace of the future spouse so that every marriage will be filled with those grounds that the blessed Alojzije Stepinac considered important.
